The following three graduate students researching and writing dissertations on the history of the American South received research and travel support from the University of Alabama Graduate School. The Summersell Center will provide matching funds:
Matthew Downs, whose dissertation examines the impact of federal projects in the Tennessee Valley region.
Daniel Menestres, who is researching the development of the two-party political system in North Carolina.
Joe Danielson, whose dissertation looks at federal occupation in northern Alabama during the Civil War.
