Generously funded by the Bankhead Foundation, the Bankhead Family History Project is dedicated to researching and documenting the impact of the Bankhead family on the history Alabama, the South, and the nation.

Features in the project are the life and times of John H. Bankhead, Sr., congressman and U.S. Senator; John H. Bankhead, Jr., U.S. Senator; William B. Bankhead, congressman; Marie Bankhead Owen, founder of the Alabama Department of Archives and History; and Tallulah Bankhead, actress.
